Arguments for the existence of God

The Ontological Argument - Defining God into existence because ‘perfection’ necessarily entails existence.

The Cosmological Argument - Everything has a cause, so there must either be an infinite regress or an initial uncaused cause, which is defined as God.

The Teleological Argument - Complex things require creators. The world is complex. Therefore it requires a creator.

The Anthropic Cosmological Principle - The laws of the universe are suitable for life. Therefore the universe must have been designed to support that life.

The Experiential Argument - Lots of people have religious experiences, therefore the experiences they have must be true.

The Pragmatic Argument - Ethics are more effectively enforced with the threat of heaven or hell. Therefore religion is useful.
