Who is Giambattista Vico?

Giambattisata Vico was an Italian philosopher, historian and jurist who lived from 1663 to 1744 and is now considered to be one of the greatest thinkers of the Enlightenment.

His most notable work is “The New Science”, which proposed a cyclical theory of history. It argued that we must study human culture and society through philosophy, philology and historical analysis.
