What is natural law?

Natural law is a philosophical concept that posits the existence of a universal and objective moral code that is inherent in the natural world.

It is based on the idea that there are certain truths about nature and human behavior that can be discovered through observation and reason, and which provide a basis for ethical decision-making.

Natural law often serves as an ethical guide in determining what actions are right or wrong. It differs from other forms of morality in that it does not rely on any particular religious, cultural, or societal beliefs, but instead relies on a universal understanding of how the universe works.

Natural law has been used to guide legal decisions and to provide a framework for understanding morality throughout history.
