Who were the Scottish colourists?

The Scottish Colourists were a group of four artists who worked in the early 20th century in Scotland and were influenced by French and Post-Impressionist art: Samuel John Peploe, Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell, G L Hunter and John Duncan Fergusson.

They are known for their vivid use of colour, strong sense of pattern and design, as well as their experimentation with different techniques such as mixed media and collage.
